After spending some time researching on Rolex forums, I realized that the Black Dial Daytona 116520 is incredibly rare. The black dial offers a more understated, refined look—exuding a gentlemanly vibe while being extremely versatile. Launched in 2000 and discontinued in 2016, it features the Calibre 4130, a landmark movement for Rolex; however, the chances of successfully finding a pre-owned authentic model are estimated at only 5%. Consequently, I became determined to purchase a high-quality replica as a practical alternative.
Let’s talk about this replica. According to Jhon, the movement is a clone of the Calibre 4130; the base unit comes from the Clean Factory, but their studio has performed modifications and adjustments—though, of course, it isn't a genuine Rolex 4130 movement. The entire watch is crafted from 904L steel, so the weight—around 145g—is almost identical to the real 116520. The Oyster bracelet is nearly perfect, featuring the characteristic high-polish finish on the center links; even the folding arms inside the clasp have received the same treatment. The case includes the Easylink system, and the "78490" model number has been replicated on the bracelet. I suspect the bracelet might even be interchangeable with the genuine 116520. It is very comfortable to wear. The only downside is that the luminosity doesn't last particularly long.
