Consequently, the RM 35-02 was officially unveiled in May 2016, just before the start of the French Open (Roland Garros). Like the RM 35-01, the RM 35-02 belongs to the Baby Nadal collection; it does not feature a tourbillon but instead utilizes an automatic winding mechanism. The RM 35-02 comes in two base versions—Carbon TPT and Red Quartz TPT—alongside special high-jewelry set editions.
 
The RM 35-02 differs from its predecessor, the RM 35-01, in the following ways:
1. The RM 35-01 is powered by the manual-winding RMUL3 caliber, requiring the wearer to manually wind the crown to build up power. In contrast, the RM 35-02 features the automatic RMAL1 caliber, equipped with a variable-geometry rotor that automatically generates energy through the movement of the wearer's wrist.
2. The RM 35-01 features a solid Carbon NTPT caseback, concealing the movement from view. The RM 35-02, however, boasts a sapphire crystal caseback—making it the first model in the "Baby Nadal" collection to offer an exhibition back—which allows for a clear view of the skeletonized movement and rotor.
3. The RM 35-01 case measures 49.94 x 42.00 x 14.05 mm. The RM 35-02 case is wider and thicker, with lines that appear more angular and robust, measuring 49.94 x 44.50 x 13.15 mm.
